Woke in Dennywood to cloudy skies so had a lazy lay - in reading :) arrive at Lepe at 11.30 with the plan to kayak up the Beaulieu River but looking very dark :( ring Rob for weather report and decide to go anyway !!! Mag packs lunch as I pump up the boat and we set off in the light north offshore winds at approx 12.40 in a calm sea :) Seemed to take ages in the open sea but made the river hugging the marshes to see the birds including egrets and lapwings and hundreds of mullet !!!The fish loved to swim alon with their fins out of the water !!! We made it to Bucklers Hard with the tide still coming in so decided to continue to Beaulieu. At three with the rain just starting we stopped for a late lunch under some trees at the boat park at Bailey's Hard where we watched a canoe race and some lads fishing from the jetty - they caught two fish :) We arranged for Rob to pick us up after the football had finished and continued to Beaulieu as the sun made an apperance :) Still more mullet and we were lucky enough to spot a kingfisher !!! We Landed at 5.30 after a 7 mile and nearly 4 hour trip, then Rob took us back to Lepe where we had fish and chips to end a top top day :)
